Actually I suppose I should say I have an obligation to paint. The need to express and convey the Dreamtime stories as they would have been handed down to me from my ancestors as with each and every generation, over many thousands of years.
I want to add colour to these stories, not to alter the teachings in anyway but to celebrate the ancient culture that I have inherited.
I want to do the stories justice and convey them in a manner that befits its place in time.
I wish I could take the credit and claim it is my wild imagination that allows the paintings to come to life on the canvas.
Alas, this is not true. For I am just the story teller.
The person who has been entrusted with the stories, the secrets the traditions. To allow the ancient tribal teachings life and to ensure that the stories are conveyed in a dignified manner.
